everything i learned in kindergarten

I HAD TO LEAVE MY BEST FRIEND HOME

MY DOG WILLEY DID NOT LIKE BEING ALONE

HE SOON LEARNED THE RULES

HE PLAYED SCHOOL

HE COULD WALK ME TO THE DOOR

THEN, RETURN WHEN THEY ALLOWED ME TO PLAY WITH HIM MORE

THE HALF DAY BIT-A BIT CONFUSING

MORE FRIENDS WAS TO HIM CONSUMING

I WAS LOSING MY DOGS AFFECTION TO STRANGERS

BAD ENOUGH, THAT HE WAS A MALE RANGER

SIT STILL FOR THIS & TAKE A NAP

GASMANS ARE NOT LIKE THAT

I WAS NOT READY TO SLEEP ON IT

NOT AT 10:15 IN THE MORNING

I WAS NOT INDIAN

I DID NOT NEED A BLANKET

I DID NOT CARE HOW THE BLANKET ROLLED UP

I WAS NOT ABOUT TO BE

I COULD NOT USE MY CRAYONS TO DRAW

THERE WERE OTHER USES I RECALL

 WASTE A DAY HAVING FUN

I ASSUMED THAT WAS GOD'S INTENTION

THAT TEACHER WAS REALLY CRUEL

HER AND HER RULE (IT WAS FLAT & HAD A LEARNING GLIDE)

GASMANS DON'T CRY

SHE DIVIDED ME FROM MY FRIEND MICKEY

THE BEST TEAMWORK IN HISTORY

SHE RUINED ALL OUR FUN

LESSONS IN THE WASTEBASKET, THUS BEGUN

(ONE IN EACH-TOO TALL FOR US TO SEE OUT)

(TIME FOR MY NAP)

I LEARNED, I HAD TO GO TO SCHOOL

I LEARNED, THE GOLDEN RULE "DO ON TO OTHERS..."

DON'T CHANGE, SHE WILL GIVE IN

SHE DOESN'T HAVE CHILDREN

 SHE CAN GO HOME

THEN & NOW, THERE WAS MORE LEARNING TO BE KNOWN

IT WAS LESS THAN FOUR HOURS A DAY

AWAY FROM THAT CONDUCT, I LEARNED TO STAY

I HAVE NOT LEARNED TO SPELL

I STARTED NOT LEARNING MISS BIZZELL
